This is the second track from the upcoming album 'Don't Get Your Hopes Up'.

Written waaaaay back in 2011/12, and is closer to the original Drewvis sound, it's about realising a friend really hasn't been a friend, and setting yourself free from a toxic relationship.

Questioning the motives again, knowing you were never really my friend.
I hope it hurts to hear the truth, and if it does I want to say it again.
I hated having you around, you were full of negativity, and I can't stand to think about all the time I was too blind to see...

And if I had a way to take back all my wasted years, I would trade them for one day without those selfish fears.
And every day I wake up now is one where I feel free - and even though I know you don't care, I have just jumped off the trapeze.

Buy me a pen, I'll say it again, but you can't just "pencil me in",
I wish you'd learn to deal with this, 'cause it's why you haven't won anything.
Who the hell do you think you are, only showing up 'cause you need a hand?
Tell me where was yours when I needed you, and things had never gone the way I'd planned...
